History

how the christmas train started
Victory Camp, the winter home of The Christmas Train, was founded in 1992 with one goal in mind – reaching the next generation.  Several years after the opening of Victory Camp, an opportunity arose for a train from the San Antonio zoo to be purchased.  In the summer of 1999, “Old Smokey” would move to his new home at Victory Camp and help welcome the first year of the Christmas Train in 2000.  The people of Living Stones Church got together and decided to decorate the Camp and the train track for Christmas and invite the community out to experience it.  The Christmas Train was born!

In 2011, Victory Camp bought a second train with extra train tracks from a theme park in Canada. They expanded the ride into a whole new section of the camp, making the Christmas Train even better! Over the next 25 years as more and more people would come out to experience the ride, the Christmas Train has grown and expanded into what you see today.

The Christmas Train wouldnt be what it is without the creativity and contribution of hundreds of different volunteers and sponsors over the years.  Some have helped build props and displays, some come out each night and serve the visitors, and some help out by donating and giving so that we can continue to improve and maintain each year of operation.  It is the culmination of peoples time, talents and treasures that makes the Christmas Train the belssing that it is!

We want to welcome you not only to the experience The Christmas Train, but to come and experience Sunday morning service at LS Church.

Our doors open at 9:30 a.m., and our service begins at 10:30 a.m. every Sunday. The Church is made up of people from all walks of life that come together each week to worship the Lord and thank Him for what he is doing in our lives and through intentional discipleship, connect people to Him.

We believe that where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom.  Jesus wants you free and we setup our ministry around the call to join His ministry of reconciliation, restoration and freedom that is found only in God the Father.
